From James Bond to Cannes: BMW’s cinematic journey continues
At the 78th Cannes Film Festival, BMW once again takes center stage as the official automotive partner, delivering a fleet of luxurious, sustainable vehicles to chauffeur celebrities and international guests to the Palais des Congrès and other iconic locations across the city.
Leading the procession are the BMW i7, XM, and iX models — flagships of the brand’s eco-conscious mobility. These vehicles embody a new vision of luxury that places driver and passenger well-being at its core, while showcasing BMW’s leadership in environmental responsibility, digital innovation, and safety.
BMW’s longstanding bond with the world of cinema runs deep. Over the years, the brand has played starring roles in numerous major productions — most notably in the James Bond franchise. The BMW Z3 debuted globally in GoldenEye, driven by Pierce Brosnan through thrilling chase scenes. In Tomorrow Never Dies, the E38-generation 7iL sedan became another cinematic icon, with 17 custom-built units equipped with gadgets like rocket launchers, intrusion sensors, safes, shields, and remote controls.
BMW’s relationship with Hollywood continued with the futuristic i8 featured in Mission Impossible 4, the powerful M3 in Mission Impossible 5, and the 600-horsepower M5 in Mission Impossible 7. Whether on the big screen or the red carpet, BMW continues to fuse technology, style, and emotion, reaffirming its place in the automotive world and in the cultural imagination of film and glamour enthusiasts worldwide.
